DescriptionThe CRU Encryption DataPort 5+ provides a convenient, cost-effective way for you to prevent unauthorized access to the sensitive data stored on your computer. It uses a custom designed high speed processor to encrypt data before it reaches your IDE hard drive. The processor uses a unique electronic key during the encryption process and the encrypted data cannot be unencrypted without using both the same electronic key used during encryption and a CRU Encryption DataPort assembly. Our family of Encryption DataPorts can help you meet your diverse data security requirements. Models are available in two DES versions, 40 bit and 64 bit, and Triple DES (TDES) version 128 bit. The Encryption DataPort 5+ (DES and TDES) utilizes a cryptographic engine certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Encryption DataPort 5+ is compatible with any operating system that supports IDE hard drives. Our high-speed ASIC encryption engine will not degrade your computer system performance. US Government customers can use Encryption DataPorts to keep their important data secure. The Triple DES algorithm used in the 128 bit version of the Encryption DataPort 5+ has been approved by FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards Publication Series) to be used by US government agencies for the protection of sensitive information. Encryption DataPorts can also be used to protect medical records, credit card information, or any other important information stored on computer hard drives. CRU-DataPort provides unique electronic keys with each Encryption DataPort. CRU-DataPort offers several Key Management Options which can be customized to meet your specific needs. CRU-DataPort does not store any data regarding the encryption codes used by our customers to further ensure the security of their data. Contact a CRU-DataPort sales representative for details. CRU-DataPort understands that some users have very complex data management requirements and limited computer resources, so we designed the Encryption DataPort 5+ carrier to be compatible with the DataPort frame assembly used by our existing IDE DataPort 5+ products. DataPort customers can enjoy the flexibility of using one drive bay for both Encryption DataPort 5+ carriers and any standard IDE DataPort 5+ HDD carriers. The Encryption DataPort 5+ is designed for hard disk drives operating from 7200 rpm to 15,000 rpm. The cast aluminum alloy metal frame and carrier provide excellent thermal management and reduce hard drive operating temperatures by up to 30%. All Encryption DataPort models feature a full three year warranty and free technical support. The Encryption DataPort 5+ processes data at 1.6Gb/s, and supports the IDE/ATA-6 interface--backward compatible for ATA/66/100--as well as the new high capacity 200GB and 250GB hard drives. Standard features include a dual ball-bearing cooling fan with CRU's patented Temperature Controlled Cooling System (TCCS™), gold-plated DIN connectors, and mechanical and electronic key security.
